Contact via: http://www.sicamm.org/ We well be present also this year at the regular conference - this time in Aviemore, Scotland.

The GEDB was founded on 1994/11/19 in Germany.

The GEDB campaigns to re-introduce the dark bees in their old habitats in the spirit to keep up the natural variety of plants and animals. Partnering both breeding and research the GEDB wants to win over many beekeepers for our idea, that keeping bees mainly for economical reasons is not a natural thing and therefore not up to date anymore.

Our allies are primarily the societies for the conservations of endangered kinds of animals and plants.

We have realized that this task with regard to the dark bees has come into focus much too lately. Therefore we want to learn from our european neighbours. The SLR (The society for the conservation of the dark bees in Swizerland) supported our foundation right from the beginning and is connected to us amicably since.

The circular of the GEDB is published unregularly on demand.

In 2007 the GEDB had over sixty members, the annual fee for natural members amounts 15 EUR.
